We have very little lore when it comes to Vecna, only the Hand of Vecna and Eye of Vecna item descriptions. This is the first time in 5e that an iconic BBEG like Vecna is given some attention and a statblock. Why, for the love of all that is holy, is this a limited title that has to be claimed before the 16th? Is this going to be a regular thing? I liked the Acq. Inc giveaway since it made sense, but this isn't a giveaway of a sourcebook to celebrate an occasion, this is a hereforeto not existing statblock and lore document that is being given away for free and then is going to be fully gone. It's not even going to be a 2$ purchasable separate monster statblock or something.
Why? Was this DDB to make this decision? Was it WotC? Either way, it's a bad call.
Leaving OGL 1.0(a) untouched and making SRD 5.1 CC-BY-4.0 is a great first step. The next is a promise to do the same for future editions. Here's a discussion thread on that.
considering that WotC now owns DDB, you can take a wild guess who did it. :v

Trying to get your physical content on Beyond is like going to Microsoft and saying "I have a physical Playstation disk, give me a digital Xbox version!"
I'm aware DDB is now owned by Wizards, but that doesn't mean DDB can't still take independant actions.

That's exactly what it means. Every action they take now has to go through WotC, and if WotC doesn't okay it, it doesn't happen.

DDB is great, but it could be better. Here are some things I think could improve DDB
