Hi! I am running a western campaign and I wanted to change the name of some items for everyone in the campaign i.e instead of getting a onehanded crossbow they get a golden revolver, i know i should probably use a different system but i need to use dnd for different reaons, is there anyway to do this without manually giving a nickname to every player or every item?
So, for magic items, it's easy: Go to "create homebrew magic item", pick the item you want to make it from, then don't change anything but the name and description.
To create normal items, probably the easiest route is to start with a magic variant of the item, and edit out the magic bonus. (So, take away the +1 bonus from a crossbow +1.) You could also do it through the "create from scratch" side of the item builder, but honestly, I don't see much reason to do it that way.
