One of us may be slightly unclear on what is being referenced here.
This is not an application that would fit the profile for Steam inclusion. The service being developed here is an information resource and management tool for grouped D&D interactions. A virtual tabletop setting is not what is currently in development, which would be more aligned with Steam's content.
A mobile app is in the works to bring the vast amounts of data offline and on the move, but that is the purpose of D&D Beyond - an official digital toolset for the 5th edition rules.
Please elaborate if I've missed the mark, so that I may better help.
Got it. xD I found that maybe the future focus as the "Fantasy Grounds" which is an application that allows you to play and create your RPG games. Facilitates this game and offers some optional adventure add-on modules that can be loaded and played with very little preparation. Each game requires a GameMaster (GM) and one or more.
I see that D & D Beyound is evolving every day in order to help players. ^^ Who knows someday something like Fantasy Grounds for PC platform.
I can not wait to get the translated version of D & D 5 edition in the language of my country, I am anxious. xD
Leaving OGL 1.0(a) untouched and making SRD 5.1 CC-BY-4.0 is a great first step. The next is a promise to do the same for future editions. Here's a discussion thread on that.
That's how I am currently doing it, a native Steam app to manage your characters even if it's just the same app on the app store but on steam, to potentially be used as a companion with other table top apps isn't unwanted.

Are there any prospects for launching the application on the "Steam" platform?

Potentially rezzing a dead thread but Steam Deck would love a steam app for utilizing
Install a browser on your Steam Deck.
Use that browser to go to DNDbeyond.com.
Done. You now have DDB on your Steam Deck.

DDB is great, but it could be better. Here are some things I think could improve DDB
