Can we add a feature to "give" a new character to a new D&Der.
As expected, the game is growing in popularity and many returning gamers, like myself, are now adults where finding other RPGers can be difficult ... meaning non pejoratively that we are not surrounded with likeminded individuals that will jump at the opportunity to return to D&D. I am 47, fairly successful, and despite buying the Beadle Set, all core books to aid in enticing X-players and newcomers, I cannot get them around a table. Many have now watched episodes of CR and Pax of AcqInc which everyone truly loves and seems to want to be a part of. I have even added, nights of "race appropriate" cocktails fully catered with premium ingredients (armagnac, single cask whiskeys, etc ...), my friends tend to be lushes. I am still unable to get friends around the table !!! One main issue for those who are interested is, the fear of complexity and "the rules" etc ...
Creating a character with a lukewarm player in private (as we would do at camp when I was young) used to be the BEST way to get new players ... they would dive into the backstory of their character, loved the description of their attributes and suddenly were dying to do something with their fantasy self. They would ask questions such as "what does my wisdom do ?" and instead of feeling as though they were learning rules, they felt as though they were empowering their character ... it seemed to be a great hook.
I would therefore suggest the following feature: allowing people who know the game to create a character on DND beyond and export it or give it to newcomers via email with an invitation to sign on and join to "see" their brand new character. Firstly, you will get new adoptees to your platform, secondly, I will be able to entice new players with their shiny new awesome characters.
Many thanks for your time and my apologies to the forum regulars if this is a frequently raised topic, I did not find is as a search,

You can make an unassigned character in a campaign that another player can claim (it will be removed from your character list once claimed).
I've used this to make characters for players in my group.
I have been trying this, I made unassigned characters for players, but they haven't been able to claim them. Am I doing something wrong?
Not sure. Do they have empty character slots left? If so, they should just need to be in the campaign to claim them.
Yeah, It worked after they deleted one of their characters.
