I was looking at the 20% off sale just in case there was anything I wanted to pick up and right next to it are the advertisements for the Bundles containing the specific product. These are labeled as "Bundle and Save". However, I believe that the bundles only offer 15% so that in fact someone who wanted that product is paying more for it if they buy the bundle since it effectively reduces the discount from 20% to 15% for that product.
I'd consider that misleading advertising.
The bundle offers 15% off everything if you buy it all at once but everything here goes on sale for more than 15% off at some point in time. As an example, I already own 3 out of the 4 books in the players bundle, the only one I don't have is SCAG. At present the players bundle would cost me $36.00 to obtain SCAG (and that is AFTER the 15% bundle discount) while buying SCAG by itself (with no discount) would be $29.99. If I picked up SCAG on sale it would be even less. So, in my case, that particular bundle should be labeled "Bundle and spend more".
This derives from the fact that D&D Beyond only credits a purchaser with what they spent on a book and not the cost of the book in the bundle. Purchasers have to pay back any discount they received in excess of 15% when buying a bundle containing something they already own. This makes bundled purchases actually unattractive and disincentivizes such purchases since everyone who owns something already might as well wait for a sale. For anyone already owning content or looking to purchase something already on sale for more than 15% off, bundles should be labeled "Bundle and spend more"
I'd suggest that if D&D Beyond/WotC/Hasbro actually would like more people to buy bundles then they consider crediting the cost of the book in the bundle for customers who already own content since otherwise, bundle purchases really don't make any sense since they really are "bundle and spend more" for people who already own content purchased on sale at more than 15% off.
