For the record, your idea has organizational merit, and probably would've gone over far better than them attempting to force the discussion into a private survey.
However, you're bound to be a victim of misaligned intentions here. It goes like this. No one who is upset about this at this point wants to make anything easy for WotC. The current point is to cause as much disruption as possible while attracting as much attention as possible to the source of dissatisfaction, so when their revenue reports come in they can point clearly and immediately to what caused them to hemorrhage money.
It is in the interest of people who are upset and complaining to do so vocally, in a new, unique thread of their own, filling as many pages of as many forums as they can with their dissatisfaction. Doing so grabs far more attention and causes far more disruption than posting everything under one designated thread, forcing the issue to be cleared if they want any non-moderated discussion to be accessible at all. Just like stuffing someone's mailbox with ten thousand letters instead of one letter with 10,000 signatures.
That laughable attempt at strong-arm diplomacy where they thought they were going to hide everything in a private survey isn't going to get anything done. WotC's best shot right now is to filter through the poo they buried themselves in, take whatever few kind-hearted bits of feedback they can find amidst the hate they've inspired, and continue releasing updated drafts to the OGL (or agree to just leave it alone like they should've in the first place) until one of them sticks right and the outrage subsides.
Until then, if you want to talk D&D, I recommend the RPGstackexchange. They're much more concerned with gameplay than the OGL drama, and the OGL drama is all DDB is going to be for a while.
I think it would be great if the Forum had a channel just for talking about the OGL.
This would greatly help those of us who want to come here and talk about the game of D&D.
I would love this idea. It's what I've voiced, because others are creating unique threads to all say the same thing. If they had a dedicated area to voice (despite my suggestions of a single thread, with multiple pages - in my view, being more effective) - if not, an OGL forum section would be wonderful.
Hades, if they wanted to grant me the super power to move (existing) threads into its own OGL forum, I'd do it free of charge. :)
No. If they do, I ain't posting in it. We need to clog up and cluster f these forums all over the place and not shut up about it, ever.
You could. And then become just like your enemy and ruin it for other members of the community who are trying to use these forums, for their specific uses. Someone even posted about an ability to ignore threads not just users, because sections of these forums are becoming unusable. So if that's something that makes you proud that other members here are being impacted by clustering the f out of these forums, pat yourself on the back. Because WotC probably isn't even looking at these forums. Moderators, maybe. But certainly no one from WotC up high. So the endless clustering of threads probably isn't having as much impact as simply sticking to one thread, and keeping that one alive, and telling others to unsub - because they're you're hitting their pockets without ruining the forum community here, for folks who do use it.
But hey, you do you.
And be the vile enemy you swear to hate and ruin a community.
WOC won’t read it. What they do hear is when the financial numbers go down. That threatens the leadership’s jobs. Hopefully that leadership is removed and new, more sensible leaders are put in place.
This is why it’s good to buy real books. You can click cancel at any time when you have books on the shelf.

wizards doesnt read any of these forums anyways
thats why i support the idea of an additional thread myself as well, it keeps the forum clean, and allows people to voice an opinion in an area they want, without affecting the others who are tired of it and just want to focus on the game
If we all cancel our paid accounts… they won’t need to read these. They’ll get it.
Anyone who wants to - can. There's only like 40 separate threads to explain how. Because apparently using the "Search" feature on the forum is too much for some people.
Would you say it was out of sight out of mind if they rebranded the "Feedback" forum as OGL?
Would you believe they suddenly don't see it?
When it comes to protest against predatory and oppressive practices, that's exactly how it works.
Always remember that despite what your personal experience is, the general public is usually far less aware of the problem (and especially the details). Relegating discussion to a dark corner where only those who are already invested will look from time to time is a great way to kill any effective opposition.

I mean, lets be real. wotc doesnt read these forums and only a small fraction come to these forums, the real places people are talking is reddit and twitter, reddit already has places specified and twitter is twitter, as well as youtube only has it on the channels that want to cover it. sure folk may see more about it on youtube, but for the rest? your not finding it unless your looking and giving it a space for itself here makes it easier to be seen for those that want to see it
those who dont want to, should have their spaces free of it, and shouldnt have it forced in front of their face every twenty minutes by some new rando shoving it in their face

And if possible, any new thread that has a keyword like OGL or Open Gaming License would automatically be sent to the OGL folder

More likely that they'll just lock this topic and run away, just like they did with the Race changes topic.

Out of sight, out of mind, am I right?
Not at all. But a forum that's focused for it.

Reminder that the OGL playtest is a sham

Moderators would just move your new threads to that other forum. Not much effort required by them to keep the rest of the forums clean.
