I am DM'ing multiple active, long-term campaigns and don't want to dump everything and start over. I heavily rely on the encounter builder to manage combat encounters, I share content with my players, and I create many homebrew items and creatures to customize the campaign for my players. However, $30 per month is simply too much. I am pretty bought into the current tools, but that is more than I'm willing to pay. Regardless of my feelings about WOTC/Hasbro intentions, $30/mo would definitely be a deal breaker.
In case anyone here still hasn't heard about WotC and their greedy, deceitful "update" to the OGL....
You're right. Because... there hasn't been 100 other threads in this forum about the "dastardly update to the OGL" that you just had to post a new thread rather than just contribute to an existing one.
You're right. Clearly no one has seen the other 100 threads that we needed another one.
It's important that they see the level of outrage is not dying down.
But sure, stan for them if you feel like that's a good way to spend your time. Show them that you're willing to step up and defend their greed by attacking anyone who doesn't protest in the way you think they should.
If you read what I said - I said by making another thread. There are people here who still try to use the forums.
Instead, normal threads are being buried under everyone's idea of creating another thread on the very same topic. Rather than just making one or two and piling on page after page after page into those existing threads. If people are outraged - I get it. But when you begin to hinder other people, who may still be using the service, then it's not just showing them you're angry - you are also impacting people who are just trying to still use the service. Which if people don't care - fine, so be it. But expect me to be sarcastic in these endless threads, because if they can "voice their opinion about their anger" - I do believe I have the equal right to voice my own opinion about their threads. One does not out weigh the other. What's good for the goose is good for the gander, one good turn deserves another, and all that.

Keeping the discussion in one thread makes it easier to ignore, so I'd argue you are completely incorrect if you think voices will be effectively heard with everything contained to one thread. Sorry you're inconvenienced but it shouldn't be that difficult for you to simply not click on these threads.

This. Personally I feel like a much more effective method of complaint is for *each* individual user to post their own thread on the subject of their outrage. I'm a long-time user of forums in general, and I myself didn't follow this advice for my own thoughts on the matter, but realistically speaking, if you contain everything to a single thread all WotC has to do to continue operations as normal is skip over a single thread.
Think of it in terms of old-school snail mail; which thing gets more attention? One letter in an envelope with 10,000 signatures can be chucked to the side. Ten thousand letters completely filling up the office inbox, each with an individual signature, requires them all to be individually opened and acknowledged, because until they sort it all out they might be missing other important, but unrelated, business matters.
Filling the forums with individual outrage shuts discussion on everything else down to a crawl until the outrage subsides. It's the closest method we have for punishing them with a digital pocket check (extra labor) like they tried to do to their fans. I approve.

Oh, I could simply not click these threads - true. But that doesn't stop the other threads in here that have nothing to do with "SO ANGRY AT OGL!!11!!!", "D3L3T3 MUH ACC0uN+ N0W!!!!", "Wh0 Els3 I$ Un$ubbing?!?!??" and every other variation of these same topics. Again - people want to keep making their own thread, so be it. But, I am probably going to pop into these threads from time to time and simply express my frustration of other threads being pushed down - because 1000 people all want to start their own thread about the above. Again, if they are - they are. But, I am probably going to poke in from time to time and share my sarcasm with yet another thread. Which, if people are voicing their frustrations about OGL, I am then also entitled to share my frustration with thread 3,234 on the same subject.

Again - if that's what people want to do, so be it. But I am also going to jump into these threads and voice my own opinion. It can be ignored by the masses screaming, but I do believe - if everyone is entitled to their right to create unique threads - I am just as entitled to enter these public threads and share my disdain for these threads shoving other threads in this forum down.

That's literally the point. To cause disruption and make it impossible to ignore. Your opinion either ignores this, or worse, shows you have a great deal of disdain for protest methods that would actually be effective on a site that uses forums to communicate.

I do not mind if people protest. Rest assured, I get everyone is frustrated, upset, etc.
However - how we see things are clearly different. Which is also fine. To me, a thread that is literally 150 pages deep, to me shows just as much impact as "spamming" (if you will) the forum.
Reason I personally see it that way - is that it's all contained in one thread, yes. But also, say a few people post feedback about the site "Is there anyway to add XYZ to the Feat of ABC?" - these threads would potentially bump down individual posts. Where as a single thread will simply continue to grow if people post it there.
Again, entitled to different points of view as to what is more effective.
I will commend all of you however, by essentially keeping it (mostly - there's quite a few in the General area, where I personally think this fits more) in this section of the forum, which is at least civil.
