Would it be possible to add a Shadow Blade as a weapon that can be equipped to show up on the Attack screen? Right now I created a custom attack for it, but I can't find a way to add my proficiency bonus only to the to-hit and not to the damage.

You could make a homebrew item?

You can't make homebrew base weapons (with custom damage).

I dont see how to not add DEX to custom action damage either. It shouldn't be doing that for melee spell attacks (most spells don't add modifiers to damage).

you do add ability mod to it afaik, its a weapon attack, the spell just creates the blade. SCAG cantrips should work as well.

In customize, mark "show as attack". That will add it to your actions. It will show as a bonus action, as that's what it takes to summon it, but it still shows the damage on the attack tab

I usually just make a custom action on the sheet.

Shadow Blade, as well as other similar attacks, won't be added specially any time soon because "There is a reliable workaround".

And yes, Shadow Blade's weapon die is 2d8. It's still a weapon that uses your ability damage mod.
