I will keep this question short, because honestly it shouldn't be that complicated to understand:
Is there a reason that I, and presumably every other paid subscriber of this site, are seeing these obnoxious adverts? In the picture above, you will see 3 ads. One of which is for the latest D&D supplement (and maybe I can understand why this video is being forced into my face). Fact is, though, I already subscribe to DDB (which I pay for annually at Master Tier) so why am I being bombarded with advertising that is telling me to subscribe to a service I already pay for?
And FYI, I am clearly logged into DDB, as you can also see in the image above! So that is not an excuse either!
They are just milking DDB for anything they can get and not spending any money on addressing issues, adding features, or taking the time to narrow down content based on whether someone already owns or is subscribed.
They have always done promos for new content like the Keys as far as I can remember, but that at least looks like a preview for something that hasn't come out yet.
I can give the Keys promo a pass, but the two obnoxious ads about "come subscribe to DDB", is something I cannot permit. I subscribe to DDB for a couple of reasons; I want unlimited access to the character builder, as a DM I love the ability to share content with my campaign groups (so that everyone is on the same page and not going to D and D wiki for reference materials, true story), AND I DON'T WANT TO SEE ADS!
And I pay for these privileges.
Just because DDB/WotC screwed up with the OGL, and clearly are still suffering because of it (insofar as those people that cancelled their subscriptions haven't returned), hence this desperate attempt to lure new/returning customers (and yes I call it desperate because in my many years of being subscribed to DDB, I can't remember the last time that this "free trial" tactic was used), doesn't mean that paying customers (me) need to be alienated and/or punished for DDB/WotC's mistakes and/or incompetencies.
DDB and/or WotC (as I don't truly know where the line is between these two are anymore), DO BETTER lest your remaining paying customers might get fed up and leave.
Don't forget the annoying daily emails with the same ads. Haven't coded in 20 years but I know it's not that difficult to run a logic check against subscriber names. ;)

"...or you can find the secret tunnel that leads to the Vault of Dickish DM which is filled with 10,000,000 copper coins and a 5,000 pound solid gold statue of a middle finger that is too big to fit through the door."
And you know what, when it comes to emails, the solution is even easier. Query your database for a list of users that AREN'T subscribed or HAVEN'T purchased x piece of content, export that list so that your email program will only send emails to those specific users. AND BANG, people will be a whole heap less irritated by senseless/redundant advertising for something they already pay for or have purchased!
There is no excuse for this, and if WotC could show even a slither of courtesy to their paying customers, they ought to do BETTER!

It's annoying to me because it seems broken. Like the site does not know I am logged in.
Particularly when you go to your subscription menu etc.
