Has there been any thought into possibly providing convention coordinators with a code that they can provide to new players? Players could use the codes on D&D Beyond to create a character on their phone/tablet in order to play in Con events? Maybe this code provides them full access to rules sources or just the PHB...at the end of the weekend they lose that but maybe get a discount to buy the resources?
I coordinate Adventurers League for 4-6 cons each year and we have character creation tables at all of these. We probably help close to 1000 people a year create new characters at these cons. Having access to D&D Beyond to help them would be an incredible tool....and might even get you a few new subscribers.
Just a thought.
