You probably want to clarify what you mean? What would having Maps being "classed as a vtt" mean in terms of rolls? The game log is already visible in maps so your rolls can already be seen when using the map
So that annoying message of no vtt found is on characters that are already in a DDB campaign
D&D Beyond does not generate any such message. It sounds like you have some kind of third party extension installed that is looking for something and not finding it. You should contact the creator of the extension, or disable it
I believe this message is from "Beyond 20" browser plugin that you must be using. If DnDBeyond Maps are your only VTT now you can uninstall Beyond 20 or just temporarily disable the plugin until you either play or host games on other proper VTTs like Roll20 and the like.
