I am interested in the new book, but only so far as it will still be set up with the current 5E rules. I am just not interested in the newer version coming out later this year. I am looking for an official statement when the print books will start adopting the newer rules.

2024 and Beyond
The 2024 Core Rulebooks will provide new options for players and DMs along with updates and improvements to the classes, mechanics, items, and monsters of fifth edition. All updates are being done with care to make sure anything from fifth edition will continue to be fully playable.
It's pretty simple, there is very little (almost no) elements going into the 2024 books that will majorly effect an adventure like this. It will be compatible with them and follow the same design philosophy, but no more than the other recent books have.
There won't be player options so you don't have to worry about that.
The only 'update' of any significance is that any native monster stat blocks will be like the newer ones that we already have confirmation are going into the 2025 MM. For example, Vecna will most certainly be printed in it and most likely is the exact version already available here on DDB, and like all new spellcasters there will be less focus on him using an actual spell list and more spell-like abilities. This will be true of any 'spellcasting' NPC. That and 'generic' monster stat blocks will say *typically* of whatever alignment they are.
That'll basically be it. Adventures are seen as being fully backwards and forwards compatible, so just like you could in theory still use the old Out of the Abyss with the new PHB characters, you'll be able to use this new adventure with old 2014 PCs.
Nothing of significance is likely to change with the 2025 adventure either, chances are you'll still mostly be able to use 2014 PHB characters in those as well.
Now, all that being said nothing is fully equal. I think the balance is likely to be off, like say you were ONLY using 2014 PHB, no Tasha or Xanathar, just RAW PHB? It would work 95% and 5% will be poorly balanced and your party might get stomped on. But I doubt it

I understand that, but will any of these updates be in the New Vecna book?
