I have been on this platform for over four years and have been a player and DM since the eighties. I wanted to let you know how disappointed I am in the current stance on the OGL. The market you currently enjoy was largely built by the same third-party providers whose works you will attempt to claim license to under the new OGL. The majority of DMs are comfortable running almost ant ttrpg system, and most content isn't really system dependent. The most likely outcome I can see is the third party creators working on non-DnD works going forward, resulting in a community that is less cooperative, creative and profitable for all.
So I am notifying you that if the OGL releases as it has been leaked, I will be cancelling and boycotting all DnD Beyond, WOTC and Hasbro owned services and products.
I never write to companies, so if I am, I can only imagine the backlash you must be facing. Perhaps you should listen to what your customers want...
I'm in the minority that think maybe asking companies who make millions off of D&D to kick some back to WotC is not terrible. But it needs to be based on profit, not revenue, and it needs to be higher than $750k. And WotC getting a license to everything forever? Abso-freaken-lutely not.
I Cancelled my Master Tier Subscription January 12th 2023 because of "OGL" 1.1
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
I Cancelled my Master Tier Subscription January 12th 2023 because of "OGL" 1.1 - Resubscribed 28th of Jan, now the SRD is in CC-BY-4.0
I also will no longer be purchasing anything from WOTC/Hasbro if OGL 1.1 is released/enforced, and will be encouraging all 3 of my current games to move to a new system.
I have been playing DND and other Wizard games for nearly 7 years since I was a child. Making my own homebrew and even my own universe that my family and friends all play in.
It sickens me to my core that 1.1 OGL is even being considered. What is wrong with you? Why would you do this to your loyal customers and community, you are limiting the very point of this game. To share, tell story's and have fun with friends. Hard to have fun when one must constantly look over there shoulders for big brother when trying to sell there homebrew. Peoples livelihoods are at stake. I'm not being dramatic when I say you will be ruining lives with this OGL
If you think for a second that the community will stand for this....well, I'm sure you got your response Wizards.

Thank you
I have been on this platform over 5 years, Master Tier subscriber for around 3 years, maybe more.
I just deactivated my subscription and will not renew unless WOTC commits to indefinite support of OGL 1.0a.
This attempted theft is sickening.
Long Live Arnesson. Down with Gygax.

I have canceled my subscription as well, due the breach of trust that the memo has shown. We will be moving to another system for our future games.

I HAVE CANCELED MY DND BEYOND ACCOUNT OF 5 YEARS.
I've been using the platform for 5 years, Hero Tier for 1 year and a Master Tier subscriber for 3 years give or take a couple months.
I just deactivated my subscription and will not be renewing if the OGL 1.1 moves forward. I've also discussed moving systems with my group.
I CANCELLED MY MASTER TIER SUBSCRIPTION OF 3 YEARS ON JANUARY 12th 2023 BECAUSE OF "OGL" 1.1
