So my main problem is that you only get one subclass/archtype in the basic rules I feel like you should get 2 at least to give you a choice. (Sorry if I wasn't supposed to post on here.)

If your eyes tell you what your seeing how do you know there not lying?
if you posted in the general forum you might have people tell you that the basic rules are mostly there as a stepping stone. after playing a bit with only the "starter" subclass you can either purchase the full player's guide (the new 2024 version is coming soon, wait for that!) or you can [convince your dm to let you] build your own subclass.
but, if your whole point to was to leave feedback that one subclass isn't enough subclasses, well... yep. two might be nice.

unhappy at the way in which we lost individual purchases for one-off subclasses, magic items, and monsters?
tell them you don't like features disappeared quietly in the night: providefeedback!
