Just going to keep posting about this until they do it. I was again annoyed today that one of the feats I wanted to add to a character was locked behind a book I didn't have. Guess I'm going to write it down on a sticky note because I am not going to purchase a $30 digital book for one feat (or any number of feats, really). This isn't the first time I've run into this wall, and I am sure it will not be the last. Had a la carte been around, I probably would have spent $20-30 since starting a new campaign three months ago; instead, I spent 0. Admittedly, in a vacuum, that is not a lot, but I am sure I'm not the only customer that has completely cut off purchasing since the change.
People use D&D Beyond for its convenience factor (after all, we can always just use pen and paper to play this game). Please bring back that convenience factor (or we'll just start using paper again).
If you know the details of the feat you could just homebrew it, right? unless it's one of those finnickey feats that has options you can't choose in the homebrew lists
Hm, yeah, thanks for pointing that out. I hadn't ever tried using custom/private homebrew for this since I thought it was locked behind subscription; that seems to have worked pretty well for the feat, at least. Thank you for the suggestion.
I'm still going to leave the topic up because this was just the most recent issue. Another example, I had wanted to purchase a Warlock subclass on my wife's account. I could probably still Homebrew the subclass as I have the details for that, as well, but for something that big, I'd just have preferred to spend the $2 to make sure that it will work with the app without any finicky bits.
