Under the latest Changelog, it is mentioned multiple times that the 2014 rules and content will still remain usable in within the updated version of the character builder etc., but if you read further it only applies to everything that is prone to change in the 2024 edition. In other words you can use a feat from 2014, if it hasn't been updated in the 2024 edition or is no longer available in the 2024 edition. Meaning for instance I cannot use the feat " Fighting initiate" and "" Great Weapon Master" as the 2014 version, since it has been changed in the 2024 edition. So I am stuck to the 2024 edition. DNDB gives me the option to create my own Homebrew content, so basically having to recreate all that is changing, if I want to finish our campaign....
When I read all carefully, ic that sure you can create a 2014 rules character, but everything updated to the new version, will be updated. So that feat you selected for the 2014 character, is now no longer that feat.
Seeing the last comment in the changelog: " The core D&D rules from the 2024 Core Rulebooks do not have a toggle as they are always considered enabled." So this means that even though you create a 2014 barbarian character, you will still get a 2024 version, since everything that has an updated version will only display that one?? IMO that is not a 2014 character, but a 2024...in other words if we haven't changed anything it will still be same, else all will be changed....
If I am wrong please let me know, since I have seen some big changes in certain spells, feat, class abilities, etc, that really impact our characters and therefore our campaign. And we still need months to complete it. (currently lvl 9 and halfway through)
If above is true and I can no longer use the digital books, in the tools you have created them for, can I get a refund for those? or at the very least get the 2024 version of the book, if I already own the 2014 version (PHB, MM and DM)?
