I mean it's clear there are several things that could improve.
Make even a really, really basic RegEx search.
Order search results by type: NPCs > Magic weapon > Spell > Ability > Compendium > Forum (it's sort of that way, but could be improved)
Sidebar: If there is even a match in the compendium AND a match in NPCs, or Items, or Spells, display the non-compendium result in the right hand side. It's such a great feature to have stat blocks and descriptions right there, it really is. Sucks when instead I get a link to a compendium entry, even though the second result is the NPC I wanted.

Playtesting Fugare Draconis, an epic tale of adventure, loss, and redemption
1. RegEx is great, but it's a can of worms to open it up to a general userbase, as it can be computationally expensive, and can be used in DoS attacks. 2. Yeah, I'd like to see the ordering improved. Even better if you could set the ordering yourself. 3. I feel like just placing the dedicated entry page above the compendium result would negate the need for this sidebar. That said, I would like to see links from the compendium to the associated dedicated entry pages.
Anyone else use roll20 and find it pretty lacking? I wish DnD Beyond would incorporate a map tool that has the same features.
1) Map toolset. Doesn't have to be fancy just functional.
2) Initiative tracker
3) Dice roller
I mean if a small developer can make it work I'm sure Wizards of the Coast can make these without too much trouble. Hell I would pay a subscription/server fee to have a seamless map toolset that is incorporated with the characters on this site.

Two things.
Firstly, D&D Beyond is not owned or run by Wizards of the Coast. It is owned by Amazon because Amazon owns Twitch, and Twitch owns Curse, and Curse owns D&D Beyond.
Secondly, the only official number I believe we have of the DDB team is five developers and a bunch of support staff. I believe they've hired on a couple of more folks since then, but it's unclear how many are actually working on the code of the site.
Also, as an addendum, Wizards of the Coast only have about fifteen people actually doing content/design in house I believe; we are not talking mega corporations here.

I've requested this about 2,023 times. Now 2,024.

I also think the search could be drastically improved with a crawler, and/or more advanced search syntax (quoted strings, +, -, etc.).
