I was updating some of my characters for the new 2024 rules when/if my DMs allow use of them, but I noticed that the optional features added in some of the more peripheral sourcebooks don't apply to the new classes. Is that deliberate or an oversight, and if the latter, are there any plans to add optional class feature applicability to the new 2024 classes?

Many of the optional features from Tasha's Cauldron of Everything were folded into 2024 classes directly (sometimes with modifications). As such, I think it's reasonable to conclude that if an optional feature isn't present in the 2024 content, that's intentional, and there isn't any immediate plan to change that.

Also, if they wanted to give the updated classes optional features, they could have put those features in the new book, instead of gating them behind an older book.
