This was such a fun tool to play with and now it's seemingly gone? Is this for good? I don't like the quick build as much and the random generator used to give me some fun starting points to build potential characters!

That's true! And that is something. But I loved the "Allow Multiclass" button to allow for completely random Multiclass combos. Also I could be missing something but it looks like they can only be level 1? Random Generator allowed for any level 1-20
Randomizing to L3 or L5 is more useful than just L1 as quick games or characters for those are rarely Level 1.
They need to bring back the flexibility of randomized characters.
