yet find a lot of problems with this system so far.. One of the old DnD players bout to go back to my Advanced DnD or hell 3rd or 4th this system needs serious work and yet we support hasbro with our money. So I need help navigating a character creation please!!

This post is a little chaotic, so I'll instead clarify as much as I can
Witch Bolt is only found in the Player's Handbook (2014 and 2024 versions), it's not available for free. As such, for it to be accessed, someone needs to own the relevant book
Subscriptions do not grant access to content
To share owned content a Master Tier subscription is required
To access shared content, the following criteria must be met
The person who owns the content must be in a campaign (either the DM or have a character in the campaign)
The campaign must have content sharing activated (see point 3). This can be activated by anyone in the campaign
The person who wants to access the content must have a character in the campaign
The content can only be added to characters already in the campaign
As for your homebrew option, that requires the legacy (2014) sorcerer, which you don't appear to have selected based on the icon you copy-pasted in
wish I knew how to share the character with you all.. always thought Storm Sorc was neat but a bit underwhelming.. then played some BG3 and love witchbolt which I had never tried before.. anyway thanks again for all the help!

You can make your character Public on the first page of the Character Builder, then copy the link.

Did you make this character inside of a campaign that has access to the sourcebooks? That might be the problem.

Davyd I think that the players handbook is shared to the campaign... that said I just re did sorc to legacy and found it!

ModeratorYeah, the 2014 version of the spell is available only on the 2014 classes.
To use it with the 2024 classes, you'd need the 2024 PHB and its version of that spell.
