I wrote a campaign with probably 40 encounters and ran it with a test group for 1 session. We got about halfway through. That group ended up not going any further in the campaign. I got a second group together and removed all the first party players, reset the campaign link, and added the new group. However, the encounters never dropped the first group, even when restarted, and the new players told me they saw that the DM had not started the campaign on their end. They could not see my dice rolls either.
I ended up copying all the encounters the second group had not done to a second campaign and plan to add them to that second campaign to finish it.
I never saw a way to stop or restart a campaign, only deactivate/reactivate (which I tried several times). Is there a way to restart a campaign with new players that doesn't involve copying encounters to the new campaign? It would suck if there were a hundred+ encounters.....
