When I open dndbeyond, often there are notification banners. Fine. They have a DISMISS button and then they disappear.
However, even when I am in the same browser session, when I go to a different page on the site, often (but not always) the same banner pops up again. Very annoying.

That dismiss action is tracked by a cookie on a per site session basis. This means that if anything blocks that cookie from being saved, deletes it, or prevents the site from reading it, you'll see the banner again on the next site session. As such, if there's some setting on your browser enabled interferes with the site cookies you'll see the banner again, even within the same setting. Also this can just happen based on connections and browser quirks too.
I have no special blockers installed. I have the same issue in Edge, Chrome, and Firefox.
I usually select "reject non-essential cookies" - BUT even when I allow functional cookies, I still have the same issue It looks like only when I allow all cookies, the banner is dismissed completely.
edit: I need to close and reopen the browser, then allowing functional cookies will work
I get the same: click dismiss and go to another page or refresh the banner is back. This has been the case for almost every blue banner D&D Beyond has ever used. This behaviour has been consistent across all devices and browsers.

All tests done with the following:
All extensions disabled and removed.
All VPNs disabled and removed.
All set to allow all cookies and javascript.
All cookies and cache cleared prior to tests.
While logged in and while logged out. Logged in tests done through 2 different accounts (my main Cyb3rM1nd account and my testing Cyb3rM1nd_test account).
Even though it shouldn't have any effect, also tested all of the above across four different Internet Service Providers.
Same result every time. Click dismiss, banner returns in page refresh or going to different page.

Yeah, this website in general is really bad about tracking what you've dismissed.
Although I've seen the issue even more than usual for the K-ID thing, makes me wonder if they're periodically re-pushing it to all to ensure everyone interacts with it since you'll literally lose site access soon otherwise.
Love that the maintenance is over and I'm still getting the banner.
Totes love it.
Help me.

Last time I looked at this, clicking the dismiss button resulted in a syntax error and thus the cookie that was supposed to prevent it from reappearing never got set. It may be browser dependent.

This is just laziness on the part of the coders. There's no excuse for there being more than one cookie per domain/site.

I posted this in the Discord a few hours ago and they are fixing it. For me, this one banner appears to be gone.
