Our group plays in person, we use a projector to display the map on the table and minis. And use dndbeyond for characters and encounters. Currently using arkenforge for the map software, its specifically designed for only in person play, so no vtt. It works great as intended but is a bit cumbersome switching back and forth as the DM from arkenforge to dndbeyond. It would be nice to keep everything in Dndbeyond and give the DM the ability to have a player view display on the projector.
Unless I am mistaken, you can do that already. In the D&D Beyond VTT, in the bottom right corner, there are a number of buttons. One of those is "spectator view". That allows you to open a tab or browser with that "spectator" or player view. Then, project that view as a "second screen" and the DM can keep their map on their main screen. At least, that's the way I have done it before.

This is precisely how my table does it. Projector, and the Maps VTT to project the map through Spectator, and to use the Maps Encounter Tracker. We use Skinny Minis instead of the VTT tokens, but persistent spell effects are drawn on the VTT. We still have laser cut shapes for the instant spell areas.
One of the things I miss about the spectator view is the option to memorize the zoom. So once you load the map you don't have to zoom out or in the spectator view again to fit the grid size to the minis.

I don't believe it ever had that option—afair navigating away from a map always reset the zoom.

Hope this helps.
thanks that does help! And will take a look, remember this wasn't an option before but will take a look now

The option was introduced about two years ago (I know at least before March 2024)
