When creating homebrew content my character tends to get a lot a specialty arrows. It would be nice when adding them to my homebrew content that arrows would be one of the base weapon type options. Closest thing so as of now is a dart.
I doubt they'll make many changes to Homebrew while they're overhauling the engine, but 100% this is a needed change to be factored into their new version.
