An amazing idea for character portraits on the sheet (not mine)

Yeah, I don’t really think this is something the devs should be focusing on, especially for a reddit thread that has such little interest posted almost a week ago.

The current portrait system already has limited control, so expanding it into a large cinematic banner just creates more scaling, cropping, and distortion problems depending on image size and device that would require players to adapt to new photo technologies that they don't have. 

The character sheet is already fighting for screen space, especially on mobile, and this would push actual gameplay information further down for something purely cosmetic.

It also feels like a solved problem already. If people want big character showcases, they can already use VTT profiles, campaign pages, Discord, or just share the art directly.

Cool mockup, but not really something that meaningfully improves the functionality of D&D Beyond or the character sheet.
