How do I add a character that I've already created to a campaign on the site? Do I need to make a whole character that's unassigned?
Ask your GM for the campaign join link. When you have that, it will ask for which character you want to join with.

Even though you are the DM and set up the campaign yourself, you still need to use the join link to add a character
