The site is already mobile responsive (with things like the browser address bar disappearing as you scroll through the site). There is also a Android and iOS app coming soon (there is plenty of info on the forums, I'd suggest taking a read through the News & Announcements or General Discussion threads). Staff are busy working on the app now.
Soon - Badeye had mentioned on the last Developer stream last week that they hope to have the Alpha of the app out this year (so since it's finally December Soon really is soon). There will be announcements when it's ready (Soon). :)

It's still November where I am.

Thank you for the responses. A native app woul likely be even better and I am happy to see there is lots of activity in this field.
I agree there is already a responsive design in the current website, which is great. However, I believe adding a web manifest would not be a great deal of effort, for a relatively large gain in functionality for mobile users, hence the suggestion.
At any rate, thank you all for the effort and contributions.
I hate to pull out an old thread, as I've only taken multiclassed into Necroposter by one level, but it makes the most sense in this case.
I have a real distraction problem during games, and my character sheet just being another tab next to all my other tabs from before my session is an invitation to be distracted that I didn't need. Go ahead and think of me as a jerk for that, but I'm just being realistic about myself. More practically, it's stopping me from investing into Beyond as much as I want to.
As long as the official mobile apps continue to serve up the reference books only (which is fine and I love, and improving those should take exactly as long as they need to!!!), it would be great if pages in the Creations tab set attributes and icons to provide great results for "Add To Home Screen" on iOS and "Add to homescreen" in Android. Individual character sheets is my primary use case, but Homebrew and Campaigns definitely make sense too.
For instance, I whipped up something in the debugger that:
Adds a subset of the older-style link rel icons that link to my chosen character icon.
Adds a barebones PWA manifest that sets 'scope': '/' and 'display': 'standalone'.
This yields me a separate home-screen icon that launches straight to the page, has no tabs or URL bar, and browses Beyond only. No distraction. Everyone's happy.
Doing a good-enough manifest is really simple, but can only be done by the site itself (for CSP reasons). If it could be any other way, I wouldn't ask y'all to do it.
Even though the in-app character sheet is coming up, I think they also should make use of the wonderfully responsive website that they've built. This seems like pretty easy thing to pull off. In-app CS is probably a couple of months away, and I would be very impressed if it was at the same level as the current CS on the website.
I know a bit about programming and can respect what you're saying :-) It often is a pretty big task to implement seemingly trivial things. Without knowing the specifics in this case, I do think it is rather trivial though. It seemingly doesn't have to touch any front-end code (the site is already responsive to all kinds of screen sizes and resolutions), and very little back-end code.
Your rule of thumb really only works if the DDB team already has thought about all features and decided which they've deemed possible to implement. Maybe they just hasn't thought about this particular thing? Full screen web sites are pretty uncommon on mobile I'd say.
(https://www.improved-initiative.com/ implemented full screen on mobile between .1 releases and that's just one guy, as an example indicating it probably isn't very hard.)
Please provide a Web App Manifest for D&D Beyond, so it can behave as a full-fledged Progressive Webapp. See https://developers.google.com/web/fundamentals/web-app-manifest/?utm_source=devtools
Doing this will enable Android users to use the site as it was a native app, without Browser borders, improving the experience.

Thanks! I tried to skim through the transcript for something about the app but didn't see anything

They've said the in-app character sheet is coming soon, so maybe that'll help you with your distraction problem?
