I've been frustrated with the character sheet sharing option ever since a few people complained and access to the Notes section was blocked when sharing. But with my Waterdeep: Dungeon Heist game possibly starting up soon, it's now gone beyond mere annoyance and is actively hampering a future campaign. W:DH sets out a recommendation that the characters begin the adventure as friends. I wanted to have all the players be able to share their character backstories, personalities, traits, flaws, allies, enemies, etc. much in the same way that Caramon, Raistlin, Tanis, Tika & Sturm did when they began their adventures and called the Inn of the Last Home, a second home.
Surely if someone chooses to share their character, this should be an option, instead of the blanket hiding of a character's most pertinent details from other players?

"Most people are other people. Their thoughts are someone else's opinions, their lives a mimicry, their passions a quotation."
Or you as the DM can always take those info and put them in the public notes of the campaign page... just saying :P
EDIT: not that I have been sarcastic and all, I do think you have a point, and I believe you mean that you'd like an option in the character settings to be "fully public", without changing the default setting of notes and such being hidden. That I fully agree with.

Born in Italy, moved a bunch, living in Spain, my heart always belonged to Roleplaying Games
The campaign page is extremely limited in scope, function, and area. I already have it filled with information.
