I know homebrew classes are on the roadmap, but given the list of things on that roadmap, it is gonna take a while.
I had an idea for a temporary solution in the meantime: how about adding stripped classes. They don't grant anything beyond hit dice and being counted toward overall level.
Class features could be implemented (to an extent) by players themselves with homebrew feats/magic items, if they wish. Even if abilities can't be implemented, they can at least enter the text for them that way.
This seems like a pretty straightforward, if suboptimal, solution to allow players to use at least 1 homebrew class for a character. If implementing this is as simple as I think, it seems like a no-brainer to serve as a placeholder for the real homebrew options. But I'll readily admit to not having sufficient insight to assess this properly. So, correct me if I'm wrong.
