I would love to see a way to add custom, persistent notes within Compendium entries.
This would be particularly useful in adventure modules, but could be useful for all kinds of content. I'd like to be able to insert DM notes while doing prep work, and have those show up anytime I look at that adventure module. I would *not* want these notes to be visible to others, even if I'm sharing that content with them in a campaign (perhaps optionally).
I imagine this would be non-trivial to implement, but I would find it very useful. Let me know if there's already some way to do this!
when they add notes please attach them to your account at DnDBeyond not to the android program.
I've added bookmarks 2 or 3 times but anytime I download books or had to update the program they all disappear.
Notes would be way more annoying to lose.
I agree, the notes should not be tied to a single device or rely on the user to bring with them. Instead, they should synchronize and be available wherever you view the content with your account, be it on the web or mobile device.
FWIW, I am using a Chrome extension as a workaround for the lack of this feature. There are several available to choose from, but the one I'm using right now is called Beanote. It lets you highlight things and create sticky notes that are persistent on future visits to the page. So, for example, I can put a sticky note on any encounter in an adventure with whatever notes I want to show up for me.
It seems to work pretty well here, but is far from a solution to this. Still, it's better than nothing. For example, it doesn't sync notes to different computers or have a way to back up notes (unless I missed those options...). Some of the other similar extensions may do those, but I liked this one better overall of the ones I tried. Between this and Beyond Help, managing adventures in D&D Beyond has become a lot easier.
I'd still like to see this be integrated into the site, so the notes can sync to/from the mobile apps, too. I tend to read the adventures on my iPad and run them from my laptop.

Great idea!
I like this a lot however

I like this idea.
As a side note to this perhaps a option to select between DM and Player visible notes would be a possibility.
I'd also love to see the ability to add persistent Journal entries to characters, but that is a separate issue <shameless plug> :)
