so I have had this idea for a sub class of a contraptionist for a while and to try to get it down on paper was fun but it’s suppose to be a subclass of the artificer class. I would really like to just use DnD beyond for it but they haven’t made this an option for home brewing. Will that happen? Will I get to home brew things that are in devolpment?
There is currently a version of the Artificer available on D&D Beyond but it does not include the Contraptionist sub-class. The site does allow you to create Homebrew sub-classes however. For officially released UA that isn't on this site, you can homebrew it for personal use only. If you try and publish it, that would violate Licensing stuff.

He wants to add a homebrew subclass to artificer. The site does not allow you to make subclasses for artificer.
Ah, I see. That must apply to UA material then. I know that the site does allow homebrew sub-classes, but I guess not for UA material then. Although, I've never actually tried to make a homebrew subclass for a UA class before.
Adam has said on the dev stream that they won't enable homebrewing for UA features because if/when those features become official, the UA content will be removed. As such, they don't want people to invest time homebrewing stuff for it to only get removed

They will enable homebrew if or when the artificer becomes official/finalized.

There has never been a UA base class on DDB before, so this is new for everyone.
