Components are needed to cast a spell, not used to prepare it. You still need the components unless otherwise stated. A spellcasting focus can be used in place of a material component, unless the material component has a monetary value or is consumed.

Yeah. In sanctuary's case, either a small silver mirror or your holy symbol (which can be on your shield).
And something like Protection Between Good And Evil I actually need the materials?
