Prerequisites for feats and items are fueled by a thing called "Race Groups", and not all races have them for some reason.
Race groups are used for everything to do with races, such as grouping variants and subraces underneath their parent race in the character builder, as well as governing which races and subraces can be used as a Prerequisite for Feats and Magic Item Attunement.
Some people like to say that "only races with subraces and variants get race groups", but that is not the case, as Aarakocra and Goliath both have race groups and have neither subraces nor variants.
Why would DnDBeyond not give every official race a race group? They are so essential, it makes no sense. Can we please have Race Groups for every race? Or at least let us make our own race groups so we can do it ourselves?
