If thread necromancy is truly not cool, why don't you DDB staff lock multi-year-old threads? If a thread is open and people can post on it, we expect that adding to the thread is acceptable. What harm can thread necromancy do in the first place? As long as your "revival" post actually contributes to the thread properly, and does not derail or heat it, simply posting in a public thread doesn't seem like a bad thing at all. Why is it so frowned upon? I want reasons.

Why is it "truly not cool"? D&D 5e remains a current topic and we allow replies to said topics, despite thread age. Where and when is posting to a thread not acceptable?
I'm not certain of the reasons you are asking for, as I do not see the limitations here on D&D Beyond concerning such.
