As a newer to D&D beyond user. I find the naming of the system as “thanks” to be misleading. As the “thanked” posts I see, happen quite often, to just be trolling comments, or comments that are not factually accurate that are then “thanked” by their friends, alt accounts, or other people misinterpreting things.
i think there should be 2 categories, “thanks” and likes” and there be a filter between the 2 (sorry to give mods more work), that mods, who I assume review posts and such anyways, can go through and see if it’s just a “like” or a “thanks”.
Is that what "thanks" are? I'm on mobile, don't even see the ⬆ unless I'm in landscape, and the only think I knew about "thanks" is that I had a lot of them (over 2000 now).

I'm not sure how you can be confident that comments with higher numbers of thanks are being padded by dummy/stooge accounts. Like, I seriously doubt anyone cares enough about the system to get their friends involved or make alts.
As for your second point, I'm not sure that would add anything other than more work to the mods plate. This isn't facebook or reddit, the thanks system doesn't really mean anything as it doesn't push higher thanked posts to the top or anything.
