Right now the layout used when looking at any site content on a tablet (or at least an iPad) in portrait is the same one used for a smart phone.
This means that in a lot of screens there is a lot of wasted space, and things are collapsed or hidden that need’nt be (in my opinion).
Examples:
The ‘header’ of the character sheet has a huge empty space in it.
The boxes leading to Monsters, Spells, etc. are hidden behind the ‘hamburger’ menu when there is room to display them all
The search is hidden behind a button when there is room to display the search field. Same for the links to profile etc.
Chapter subheadings are pinned to the top of the page.
Monster and spell listings don’t expose any fields except for the general ‘name’ box until you drill in further.
Etc.
I would like to request that either the landscape view is used as-is on tablets above a certain size in portrait mode (scaled down) or that a new layout be put together for these situations which displays most of what is shown on the landscape view, with a few elements collapsed so that it can all be the same scale.
Or, put another way, I would like the D&D Beyond staff to review the layout used on an iPad or similarly sized Android tablet in portrait mode.
