I am confused about the Shifter Shift Racial Feature and the Shifter Subraces. Do I have to buy the Shifter race and buy the subclass I want to shift into with the Shift Racial Feature? How does the racial feature work if you do not buy a Subrace? I don't want to buy it until I understand it, but I am having trouble finding the answer on other websites.
I think you have to buy the race and subrace, but you should try buying just the subrace first and let us know if that worked(or buy whole book, lots of options). You can't play as a race that has subraces without picking a subrace. It is a little dumb.
