So I bought the book a couple days ago, and to be honest, navigating through the compendium is a bit tedious. The sidebars for each chapter follows the table of contents, but for the most part, doesn't allow you to jump to a specific room number (under the Exploring This Level sections). Exceptions to this are where the room descriptions are under a different section title, such as The Caverns from Level 7 and the Crystal Dungeon from Level 16 (although the sections The Castle and Stardock from those levels don't have subsections for some reason). Where there are subsections for room descriptions in the sidebar, they're listed horizontally, with the room number and title. This is not intuitive, as there are many rooms in each chapter, so the list would just be long.
So here I propose a couple of fixes for that:
All sidebars should allow you to jump to a specific room description, and instead of listing them down horizontally, they should be listed in a grid format like a calendar. This allows the sidebar to have a smaller size. I'm not sure how feasible this change actually is, due to the impression that the compendiums just follow a baseline format.
I also noticed that whenever I click a hyperlink from one room description to another on the same chapter, it seems to prompt the browser to reload the entire page. I don't understand why it has to do that when the sidebars are effectively hyperlinks that don't prompt a reload.
