Title says it all really; currently it seems the only spells that get listed as actions by default are those with attack rolls, but I prefer to also list my other targeted, damaging spells such as Sacred Flame, Poison Spray etc. as actions so I can see them all at a glance.
To add these I can select them under Spells, then go to Customise and choose "Display as Attack", this causes them to display, but with a red asterisk and the "Customised" note. I know it's only a minor issue, but this feels a bit misleading, as I haven't actually changed anything about how the spell behaves such as a damage bonus, custom DC etc.
What I would propose is to only show the red asterisk and Customised label if another change has been applied, otherwise simply choosing to display as an attack should only add a grey asterisk as a reminder that this isn't the default behaviour, since it's otherwise fine, i.e- the red asterisk and note should be there to indicate that a significant change was made (action is no longer vanilla), rather than just a player preferring to have it appear under actions.

Former D&D Beyond Customer of six years: With the axing of piecemeal purchasing, lack of meaningful development, and toxic moderation the site isn't worth paying for anymore. I remain a free user only until my groups are done migrating from DDB, and if necessary D&D, after which I'm done. There are better systems owned by better companies out there.
I have unsubscribed from all topics and will not reply to messages. My homebrew is now 100% unsupported.
Yeah I agree that this is misleading. As a GM I want to be able to glance at a player's character sheet and determine if they've changed anything and displaying a spell as an attack isn't actually changing anything.
