Having played a handful of sessions with dndbeyond, I am really enjoying it. It takes a lot of physical effort out of gaming for me. One point of friction that I have run in to at multiple times.
While running a character, I have wanted to search for something only to have to go back to my sheet really quick. I noticed that it takes more clicks than it could to get back there. I think the ability to mark a character as 'active' would be really nice. Active in this case means that I am currently playing this character in this session. What being 'active' would do is create a persistent link at the top of the site that you can always go right to and click and you are back at your character sheet. Putting it in a consistent spot would help making navigating to it very easy too. Right now it's a bit of drudgery to hover my mouse over characters > click characters and wait for that page to load > select View and then you're at your character sheet. the button could possibly be tacked on when active right here.
Another idea I had that might be more difficult to implement is loading the character sheet in a separate frame. This would make it so you could search for what you need and your sheet is always available right there. A bit harder to imagine working well and looking good at the same time, but an idea nonetheless.
This has likely been discussed before, but a cursory search brought me nothing. so possibly some food for thought?

Might be cool, however I think tabbed browsing solves this issue pretty well for most uses. I have Beyond open in 3 tabs when playing and 7+ when running
