Cookies aren't an issue tbh if you're concerned about accessing the site on your device with security issues then I'd recommend using a VPN. I'm writing to you now from my iPhone behind VPN and works a treat and keeps you safe.
I didn't mention I also use a VPN. But remember a VPN obfuscates your internet use but a cookie on your iPhone can send information about your graphical location internet use and contacts directly to a third party. A VPN is grate and I would recomend every one use one but bad cookie security can make VPN use worthless.
I didn't think Cookies stored locations tbh but I'm not honestly sure but I take that on board and understand what your saying. Love your username by the way. Takes me right back to my childhood with the Yellow Pages Advert. Brilliant!!!
The cookies issue is with the twitch account side. I personally think that this ( Associating Twitch into it ) itself will be the downfall for DNDbeyond.

I didn't even have a Twitch account up until 2 weeks ago. I'm sure they'll add other login types, email signup at least and then maybe Facebook and Twitter
I'm a Mac user and I use Safari. I generally have my cookies set to "Allow from current website only." I wasn't able to log into my twitch account with this setting. When I tried to allow D&D Beyond to access my twitch account, I got the following error message:
I tried changing my cookie settings to "Allow from websites I visit" and still got that error message. It wasn't until I changed my cookie settings to the most permissive settings, "Always allow" that I was able to link my twitch account to this site.
I changed my cookie settings back to "Allow from current website only" and things still seem to be working.
I remain hopeful the underlying infrastructure associated with this platform will be modified to enable me to maintain my block on third party cookies.
Twitch integration isn't a dealbreaker, it's just annoying. But on modern browsers, "allow third-party cookies" isn't a site-by-site setting, it's universal. If you allow third-party cookies from even a single site, you are allowing cookies from anyone. You've given up your control to someone whose job it is to make money off of you.
For me to adopt this software, I need auto-login; I can't be fiddling with the software keyboard on my phone trying to type out my Twitch password mid-game. If auto-login is going to require third-party cookies, I'm not going to bother fighting about it, I'm just not going to use the system.

This is an issue, because a lot of people are rolling with tighter default cookie security settings and this could hinder adoption.

I had this problem as well, Windows 8 (work computer) and firefox running ghostery and adblock.
I had to go to Twitch to log on.
