I am surprised that it is not yet a feature that you can use a homebrew monster as a template for your own homebrew. This seems like a pretty vital function for the Homebrew section of the site to have optimal usage.
If you're referring to using your own homebrew, you can do this.
If you're speaking of using others homebrew as a template, this is not currently supported
