There was an issue with AWS (Amazon Web Services), a cloud system that provides a lot of servers for a lot of companies, including D&D Beyond. This issue had one knock on effect, even after the root problem was solved; corrupted caches.
The cached data for the site (the data your browser saves locally to help speed up page speeds and reduce data usage) can sometimes become corrupted and return bad data. This can mean things like the page loading weird or images not loading at all.
The easiest way to resolve this is to empty your cache, either through your browsers settings or through a 'hard refresh' of an affected page (for example, on Chrome press Ctrl+Shift+R).
On mobile devices, clearing your cache is even easier; go into the apps settings and select the option to delete cached data.
Hopefully, the next time you reload the site, all the images should be downloaded fresh and display normally.
So about a week ago I was seeing something weird, pictures were missing from dnd beyond's pages and I don't know how to fix it.
