Why is there no option to choose Drow as a race? In the PHB it clearly gives all the info you need such as +1 to charisma and all the weapon training proficiencies, etc should a DM allow a Drow in their game so i thinl we should be able to choose Drow when creating a character.
When youre creating a character and youre choosing your race the drop down menu asks what sources you want to use and the PHB is an option so i would have thought Drow would have been an option

Ah, that's in case your DM has restricted you to races from a specific source or sources. On that note, it should probably allow you to select multiple sources.

The drow are in the PHB, which is not free, and not in the Basic Rules, SRD, or EEPC, which are free. Therefore, drow are not free.

D&D Beyond can be used for free and contains information from the following "free to use" sources published by Wizards of the Coast: D&D 5th edition SRD, D&D 5th edition Basic Rules, and Elemental Evil Companion.
Content from other sources, such as the Player's Handbook, Dungeon Master's Guide, or Monster Manual, will need to be purchased from the Marketplace or accessed via another user sharing content with you via their Master Tier Subscription.
