We are getting to the point where I'm sure points are being brought up multiple times, so I'm sorry if this is one of them. My question is how interactive is this platform meant to be, and how interactive should it be? I like the thought of being able to create big guilds where strangers can interact based on common interests, and smaller & private guild pages for friends. Thoughts?
I'm not sure that's the focus of this endeavor. This entire forum itself is a place for strangers to interact based on a common interest (D&D). Private guild pages can be and are already hosted all across the internet by various hosts. I would be surprised to see this sort of addition come to D&D Beyond.
Don't get me wrong though, as I can envision a sort of friends list incorporated into a player's account. I agree that it would be nice to be able to scheduled games, share character sheets, and other homebrew/story content between a DM/players via the service. The staff have been pretty hush about what may or may not be included, so there's nothing we can do but speculate in the meantime.

I agree with Sedge here that we probably see advanced social media features at launch.
If this picks up steam after release though, that would be an awesome 2.0 feature
Even though they might not be intending the site to be used like social media, it would be a good way to increase site traffic.
