Currently you can do them but you have to attach them to a subclass. That's due to the homebrew system, it doesn't allow for class features only subclass features.
And my point was they are most likely going to do that when they get around to expanding the HB system to allow for class homebrew.
but for now if you need to do class feature variants, they are just simply attached to a subclass. So you can still make them. BTW I don't mean just making a homebrewed subclass with the features you want, I mean that they actually did implement OCF into the homebrew system but you need to just attach them to a subclass.

Yeah, but maybe this is different enough that we can get actual class feature variants instead of having to nest them inside subclasses at level 3.
