Without custom racial groups the subraces for a homebrew race do not show up under it but in alphabetical order with the other races. This makes it difficult to keep track of what subrace belongs to what race when you have more than one homebrew race.
I think this would be a way to make things more organized for them especially if they have , say a filter check button to let you show or hide certain public homebrew race groups. Or another solution would be a way to get them to add a certain racial group that you could use for the homebrew race creations. Right now Im trying to recreate all the Midgard 5e stuff from the book until they get around too adding it and these are just some of things I have noticed when trying to get them set up right.

I believe this is planned, but probably not for anytime soon.
Allowing homebrew race groups creates a lot of new logistical issues on the back end, especially for public homebrew.
