I have a pair of Beyond 20 feature requests that I believe would greatly improve ease of use and integration of portions of Beyond 20. I request the following 2 things:
#1. That when a new Campaign is being created, that there be a pulldown list of the Official 5E campaigns that are owned by the account holder. This could be used to modify character creation to match specifics of the campaign, be it per book, per a DM's campaign standard settings, or for Adventurer's League settings.
#2. That the in-book scripted combats be automatically added (by some agreed upon standardization of campaign name and encounter name) to the encounter builder/combat tracker when an official campaign is created, so that the scripted encounters can be "accessed" much easier and more quickly by the DM.
These could be implemented as a benefit of purchasing the digital edition of the book through D&D Beyond and having an appropriate membership level, or require an increased membership level. These integrations would also be a good argument to purchase digital content from you as opposed to purchasing through one of the Virtual Tabletop systems, or any other competitor, digital or not.
If having the encounters automatically added would prove to be too cumbersome to the company, a new filter in the homebrew section for encounters could be created, and your subscribers could do the work of data entry, breaking the campaigns down and taking care of the data entry "drudge work" for you. I'd prefer it be official from you, to keep from having to "fact check" each encounter, as well as to use for word of mouth marketing and bragging rights for your Company out in our gaming community.
I believe you are confusing Beyond20 (third party, unsupported extension) with D&D Beyond
These are interesting suggestions, however it should be noted that many adventure books don't have character creator specifications associated with them, so there's not really anything that could (currently) be pulled from them.
However, linking from encounters (both fixed and random) is something the team is aware of the desire for and is on their radar.
You are correct in that I did misspeak when I said Beyond 20, I of course meant D&D Beyond, and I thank you for the clarification there for anyone else that looks at this thread.
Thank you for letting me know that my suggestion is not mine alone, and that the team has it on their radar.
