So I DM for my coworkers at the library and for the session I drew up little portraits of their characters. I think they came out pretty good. These are all icons I used to make some JRpg styled titles for our game video. I have like two more but I have to go grab them as they are in a separate file on my work computer (yes this is part of my job).
you can now purchase the 3d printer files from Hero Forge, I would look around your are fro a local makers space, they often have 3d printers for use either very cheap or free, take the file you buy from hero forge and print your minis!
This is my character, Tusk. Level 17 Way of the Four Elements Monk. Half-Orc. Driven from his clan in his youth as the scapegoat for something the bullies he ran with did that killed several clan-members in a botched raid. Broken and angry he lived apart until circumstances put him on the path with his party of adventurers. Over time he grew much wiser, coming to terms with his own guilt and realizing it wasn't his fault. He is much more centered now, not only making peace with himself and his clan, but had confronted his former leaders and while still offering them a chance to atone for their own actions, brought them to justice.
This is my character for our next campaign, due to start in a month or so. A Tiefling Wizard known as Kiss. She's the middle sister of near-identical triplets, but only she manifested her otherworldly bloodline. Her sisters are human. Kiss was taken from her family at the age of 14 due to her infernal heritage. For the amusement of others she was taught the rudimentary skills of a wizard, but only those used to hurt or kill and was forced to fight in the arcane arenas. She sometimes had to kill to survive and lost many friends during the three years as a gladiator, some by her own hand. She was able to quietly listen to the mages watching in the crowd or her wizard jailers, picking up enough scraps of magic to learn forbidden utility spells… ones that helped her escape.
Here is a sketch of my recent DnD 5e character, a Triton Samurai. This was drawn with Pitt pens, Copic markers and some Pro White on Bristol board. Colors were then added in Photoshop.
Art was done by a friend from 4e, still use this icon for 5e when I use a Dragonborn character.
Rollback Post to RevisionRollBack
Guess it be good to fill this out. I'm a gamer at heart. I enjoy video and board games. In the real world, I work in warehousing to help keep me afloat.
SOme Photshop/Gimp -Fu i made some years ago about my 4Th Ed Revenant Hexblade.
He had an "artificial" arm and a Half mask on his face, after the catastrophe that striked his Home town, where he got out barely alive, the mask is there to cover and replace the part of his face that got ripped by Demons who attacked the city.
His arm was crushed by the rubble of a house that fell on him during the destruction of the city, Since he was a Tiefling and about to die, His ancestor who was bound by a pact to his bloodline(Infernal Patron), gave him a choice, either die in despair, or to life and inflict that desperation to those who left him there to rot and die.
He was "saved" by his ancestor and became a Revenant(tiefling) Bound by vengeance, His ancestor materialised part of his power and flesh under the form of an arm made out of an outerwordly material and the Mask of Seven Deaths, that also function has replacement for his missing eye.
Ingame it was the magic item "Helm of Seven Deaths" for those who remembers it, i made it look like you had One Main eye who was always open and through wich he would see, and each time he would use the powers of the Mask, another eye would open( for those that are curious, the helm permitted that through a free action you could absorb the soul of a living creature in one of the seven jewels on the helm and store them, you could use those souls to either maximize all your damage dies on an attack( all souls expended) or use 3/4 souls to regain missing hitpoints, there was a power that din't require the use of souls, wich permitted you to now the actual HP amount of a creature that you've allreadu striked at previously).
His Arm was in game terms an Axe gauntlet, an item from the Ebberon setting i think?, they din't reintroduce it yet to the game, where you would have a +1AC shield bonus, and for all purposes it counted as a light shield, but the hand was free so you could use it for anythign else, and you could decide to make a basic melee attack with it, and it counted has an axe, if you attacked you obviously lost the AC bonus for that turn.
Had put on it the enchantement(Forgot the name) that allowed me to to a basic melee attack with it at a range of 60feet once per combat, and once per day i could activate the secondary power where the creature attack by the ranged melee attack would be dragged 10-15feet towards me.
So i played it like Nero from DMC4, Giant ghost Demonic Hand who surge towards the target and drags him back, was used a few times on some fleeing adversaries...
I really liked that guy.
Trying to recreate him has a Hexblade Warlock/ Oath of Vengeance pally in 5th.
Wow I wish I saw this thread earlier. There's a lot of awesome artwork!
Here's an illustration of my dnd party I did a few months ago without the background. We started with 3 and eventually went up to 7. The grouping was inspired by the first CR group poster done by Joe Mad.
From left to right: High-Elf Sorcerer, Aarakocra Druid, Dragonborn Ranger w/Giant Spider Pet, Human Paladin, Human Fighter, Tiefling Warlock (that's me), and Halfling Bard.
This is my first ever D&D character created, Chandra Knovas! I played with her in a one-shot. Basically, she's a tiefling rogue who is pretty paragonish; she loves being the hero and helping folks out, though she has a habit of loving to show off. She was inspired to be a mercenary dedicated to helping folks out by working as an actor during her teenage years in plays and musicals, where she commonly played heroic characters. She's aware of her demonic blood, but while she hates the evil source of her blood (Levistus, one of the new tiefling subraces, though she doesn't know of his existence), she embraces her monstrous body, considering it a way to get a glimpse of the good or evil in people who see her and judge her, whether positively or negatively. (That, and she thinks she looks cool with fangs and her tail among other things. :P )
As you can see, I took high inspiration from anime while drawing this cuz I like anime and fusing it with media in my mind whenever I can. :P I used a pose tool to draw her body (admittedly), then I took to adding her tiefling features like the tail and horns. Instead of the typical solid tiefling eyes with no pupils, I decided to give her cat-like eyes with dark-colored "whites", taking the cat eyes from the variant description (since she technically doesn't have Asmodeus's blood and no physical description was given of the new subraces) while taking a creative liberty with the dark color, in addition to the forked tongue (another variant trait) and claw-like hands (another liberty). I thought it'd be refreshing to see a proud hero with physical traits that you typically see in bad guys because I love the "dark is not evil" trope. :P I took to Fire Emblem character designs for some inspiration for her outfit, too. It's not necessarily anything too glorious, but I'd like to think I did a good job drawing her. :)

Not one of mine, but this was too adorable not to share.
I got a tarot card commission for my tiefling paladin from the same artist as before, because why not?
My cleric, Ambrose, turning some undead:
