So i've decided to try and update my homebrew stuff to include the Tasha's custom origin ASI rule, however i've stumbled upon quite a large problem with that. While, through some research, i found out about the options to make certain traits replace others, when i go to include modifiers to those origin traits i'm noticing that there's missing options.
The custom origins for official races are made in such a way that you cannot choose two abilities twice, but the closest option in the actual homebrew editor is the "choose one ability score" which does not pose such a restriction.
So the modifier the official races have seem to be missing from this one, and creating copies of the official races creates copies without the custom origin stuff, which further supports this observation.
I don't know if this is a bug, or whether homebrew races aren't intended to have the custom origins, but i felt it a good idea to bring it up regardless.
An example to this is that if you go and create a copy of the new fairy race from the witchlight book, you can see that they have, in their ASI trait, the options "choose an ability score to increase by 2" and "choose an ability score to increase by 1". If you change any of these, then save, they are gone forever and you can never choose them again.
This leads me to believe that these options seem to be missing from the homebrew system entirely, which really sucks, thus i wonder if this is intentional or an oversight.
